Honoring the Past, Embracing the Future (and Clearing the Office of Car Parts)

As we cruise into 2025 at Acclaim Car and Truck Repair, we’re shifting gears (pun intended) into an exciting new chapter. This isn’t just a story of transition—it’s a tale of legacy, teamwork, and the ongoing mystery of why there’s always a car hood in the office.

Saying Goodbye (But Not Really) to Ken and Rich

Ken and Rich have been the backbone of Acclaim for years. Ken, our Master Transmission Magician, has built a reputation for fixing drivetrains so perfectly that even the cars seem grateful. He’s retiring to focus on family and health—but don’t be surprised if he still shows up with a coffee in one hand and a wrench in the other, ready to offer “just a little advice.”

Ken also has a quirky habit of losing pens in the oddest places. Over the years, we’ve found them in toolboxes, behind cabinets, and—most bafflingly—tucked inside transmission diagrams. While we’ll miss his steady presence, we’re confident the daily “Where’s All the Pens?” The scavenger hunt will keep the memories close.

Rich, our Lead General Repair Wizard and official “shop dad,” will follow Ken out the door—eventually. True to his nature, he’s determined to find the right person to fill his shoes, even if it means interviewing every technician in the state (call if you are looking or know someone looking for a job). Rich’s ability to repair anything and his knack for teaching the next generation have set a standard that’s impossible to overstate.

Together, Ken and Rich have shaped Acclaim into the trusted name it is today. While we’ll miss their daily input, we’ll carry their lessons (and probably trip over more pens) as we move forward.

Dave and Michelle: Taking the Wheel

Stepping into the leadership role is Dave, our Lead Fabricator and the shop’s unofficial “MacGyver of Classic Cars.” Dave’s passion for turning vintage vehicles into masterpieces is unmatched. He’s also the reason there’s often a car hood in the office. (Because why wouldn’t the office be the perfect place to “store” it?)

Supporting him is Michelle (his better half), our Service Advisor, Office Manager, and the only person who can look at the chaos of the shop and still make it run like clockwork. Whether it’s managing schedules, tracking down parts, or reminding everyone that the copier, or her desk is not a place to rest greasy tools, Michelle keeps everything (and everyone) on track. Together, Dave and Michelle are the dream team steering Acclaim into the future.

Joey

Joey, our apprentice and resident millennial, is stepping into a bigger role. With guidance from Ken, Rich, and Dave, he’s ready to take on larger projects and bring his fresh perspective to the team. We’re excited to see him grow—though we’re still holding out hope he’ll learn to keep his workstation “clean.”

The Road Ahead

Our commitment to excellence in drivetrain restoration, transmission work, and general repairs for classic cars remains our top priority. But we’re also looking ahead to new opportunities, whether it’s adopting cutting-edge restoration techniques, hosting community events, or (finally) finding a better place to store those car hoods.

A Parting Promise

To our customers, thank you for being the engine that keeps Acclaim running. We promise to deliver the same quality, integrity, and attention to detail you’ve come to expect. Under Dave and Michelle’s leadership, we’ll continue to make history—one car, one repair, one dad joke at a time.

Stay tuned for updates, and remember: if you drive classic, you drive Acclaim. Just don’t forget to check your oil first. (Looking at you, Jerry.)
